We are running a youth motorcycle this summer supported by Communities First. Basically the young people attend 5 workshop and 5 riding sessions and are doing the Youth race at the Dawn til Dusk. Illegal riding is rife in our area but with little provision it is difficult to address the problem. If this project is successful we will be carrying on throughout the year and rolling out into other areas. We met the young people last night who are a great bunch of lads and lassies and really keen.
Recently Tamsin won the ladies class at the Welsh 2 day enduro. This had the best lady riders in the UK competing against each other, it is rare to get them all in the same race. She has also recently been top lady in the Ryedale Rally and came 7th overall.
Craig won the Ryedale and Kielder Rallies overall, with his injured shoulder caused by a crash at this years Dakar rally. Craig is presently recieving excellant medical help and physio from Elite Cymru who he is sponsored by. In the Kielder rally he had a big crash on the first day which smashed his back caliper off, he continued riding with no back brake for the rest of the first day and all of the second. How he still managed to get the fastest test times on both days I’ll never know.
